Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement Summit
Ziauddin University, Karachi, hosted a highly successful Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement Summit on August 17th, 2024, at Clifton Campus Karachi. The summit brought together renowned experts to discuss the importance of patient and public involvement in healthcare research, under the theme “Engage, Explore, and Excel Research Revolution.”
One of the key highlights of the event was a thought-provoking session by Dr. Rakhshi Memon, Director MGF and Research Fellow at University College London, UK. Dr. Memon delivered an insightful presentation on the evolving role of community engagement in shaping impactful research outcomes. She emphasized the need for creating inclusive platforms that bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, and patients to collaboratively address public health challenges. Dr. Memon shared innovative models and successful case studies from her experience in the UK, illustrating how patient involvement can lead to more effective and relevant healthcare solutions.
The summit also featured other esteemed speakers, including Mr. Adnan Masood, Dr. Ashleigh Cheyne, and Prof. Saeed Hamid, who provided valuable insights into the future of healthcare research. The panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Zulfiqar Umrani.
