Marian Angela Surgenor is a highly experienced medical educationalist, leader and manager of people who looks for opportunities to bring out the best in people. Significant knowledge and experience of health care/education systems in the UK and Africa and Asia. Former Trustee at Manchester Global Foundation, responsible for developing national and international partnerships.
Marian has over 45 years NHS service with significant senior management experience in clinical and education settings. She has extensive knowledge of the broad range of volunteer activities Excellent communicator and educator of medical, nursing and midwifery students, and development of curriculum modules.
Marian is a former consultant advisor to Health Education England North West/Uganda UK Health Alliance in Global Activities, Associate Director Institute for Global Development University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia and Director of Partnerships, Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) University of Manchester,
Chair, Education Sub-Committee Church of Uganda/Fields of Life Vocational Training Institute Development Gulu, Uganda. At present Marian holds a number of positions, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Gulu University Northern Uganda, Chair of the Rwenzori Center for Research and Advocacy Uganda, Director/board member Link International Innovation, Wales UK, Co-Chair Nurses Reaching Out UK, Honorary Lecturer (teaching and research) Faculty of Population Health, Research and Public Health, University of Manchester UK.
