Clinical Researcher
Francis Christopher is a graduate of psychology from the University of Jos, Nigeria. He is an aspiring PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology. An Early Career Researcher, actively taking a role of Clinical Researcher with the Manchester Global Foundation UK. His research interest is on mental health and well-being, conducting evidence-based research to address mental health issues among African and Caribbean populations in countries including the UK and Nigeria with a specific interest in the cultural adaptation of psychological interventions.
As a student deeply passionate about maternal Mental health and child well-being and the profound impact of stillbirth on women’s psychosocial health. My current project focuses on “Mothers experience of cultural beliefs, care and support after stillbirth” My research interests are deeply rooted in the desire to improve the psychosocial care provided to women who have experienced stillbirth.
My acadermic carrier and my strong passion for mental health research has been greatly impacted positively by the unwavering support of the Manchester Global Foundation (MGF). And i would like to express my sincere gratitude to MGF for the valuable opportunities afforded to me through the Research Assistant funding, which has not only supported my academic growth but also enabled my participation in numerous conferences and workshops, both within Nigeria and internationally. This exposure has been crucial in expanding my professional network and improve my research skills. Additionally, MGF’s support has allowed me to contribute to several impactful research projects across Nigeria, further solidifying my role in advancing mental health research in Nigeria.
