Dr Rakhshi Memon
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Rakhshi Memon is a bioethics researcher with expertise in research ethics, equipoise, multicultural and global health research. She holds a PhD in Bioethics from University College London (UCL), UK, and has worked with research teams across the UK, Canada, and Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Dr. Memon has published extensively in high-impact journals on ethics in clinical research, informed consent, and cultural considerations in randomised controlled trials. Her background includes over 30 years of experience in the NHS working across the whole system, focusing on improvement sciences, change management, and the human dimensions of change.
She is a trained Theory of Change (ToC) facilitator, having led capacity-building workshops for NGOs and researchers in multiple countries. She also facilitates community engagement and research ethics workshops, particularly with British South Asian and Black African and Caribbean populations in the UK.
At the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL), a major research centre in Pakistan, Dr Memon chairs the Global Ethics Learning Hub (GEHL), Community Engagement and Involvement Group (CEIG) and Digital Remedial (DR) Group, supporting governance training, ethics development, health innovation and technologies and collaborative research across LMICs.
Dr Memon is also a trustee of UK Association of Medical Aid to Pakistan (UKMAP), a UK registered, UK based charity working on clean water projects, reducing incidence of hepatitis B & C, sponsoring midwives and medical students and emergency and disaster relief. She is dedicated to promoting equity and inclusivity through education and research.
