I am a Person-Centered Counsellor trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, with experience delivering services to diverse communities in the UK and abroad. I hold a doctorate in Psychology and serve as a Research Affiliate and Lead for the Intervention Design Group at Idara Tehqeeq Baraye Insani Falah (ITIF), formerly HDRF.

My work focuses on developing culturally appropriate CBT-based interventions. As part of Rahman’s team in Pakistan, I co-developed the WHO-endorsed Thinking Healthy Programme (THP) for perinatal depression, later adapting it for peer delivery and in group settings. I have designed training and supervision guides for non-specialist mental health providers and led the development of several interventions, including the THP-App (ENHANCE), Happy Mother Healthy Baby (HMHB), Preparing for Parenthood (PfP) and PREVENT-PND. Along with the above interventions I am a Master trainer for WHO interventions such as School Mental Health Programme and Problem Management Plus (PM+). I have conducted training and supervisions in over 15 countries.

I have published over 40 papers in reputable journals. For a complete list of my Published work see My Bibliography:
