On completing his undergraduate degree and post-graduate degree in Psychology in 2011, Dr Nadeem Gire began working at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust as a Research Assistant. Working alongside Professor Nusrat Husain in the development of culturally adapted interventions for post-natal depression in south Asian women (Roshni-2) and self-harm and suicide (C-MAP & Y-CMAP). In 2015, he was awarded a prestigious scholarship to complete his PhD with the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership and Acceleration in Health Research and Care North West Coast (CLAHRC-NWC) at the University of Central Lancashire. His PhD looked at the development of a mHealth intervention for psychosis (TechCare). He is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Pakistan Institute of Learning and Living, and is currently completing his medical studies at the University of Central Lancashire. His areas of interest are mHealth, feasibility study design, culture & global mental health, post-natal depression, suicide prevention and psychotic disorders.
