Dr. Iqbal Thaheem Graduated in Medicine from Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi. He spent few years in teaching at the same university. He was awarded World Health Organizations’ fellowship in Preventive Cardiology at Ninewells Hospital epidemiology unit, University of Dundee, Scotland.

Dr. Thaheem switched his profession to Pakistan’s elite Central Superior Civil Service and served for more than 25 years at various Government Positions in different Ministries of Federal and Provincial Governments and few diplomatic assignments abroad in United Arab Emirates and Japan. He also worked as Secretary to the Chief Minister of One of the second largest Province of Pakistan, the Province of Sindh, dealing with all the departments, policies and projects of entire Province of 50 million people. He also served the Private Sector’s largest trade organization the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) as its CEO (Secretary General). Also worked with Islamic Chamber of Commerce as its advisor.

He has gained experience in Policy making, project development, administration and financial matters of the Government. He had been involved in negotiations with Local and Foreign Governments’ ministries and international organizations at the highest level, on various bilateral agreements, treaties, securing projects and financial assistance for different ventures in Pakistan. He has dealt with various international organizations such as JETRO (Japan), JICA (Japan), GIZ-Germany, USAID, UNIDO, UNDP, World Trade Organization and WHO.
