Dr. Avantika Sharma is a dentist turned public health researcher with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Rajasthan University of Health and Science, Rajasthan, India and completed her Master’s in Public Health from the University of York, UK, where she developed a strong foundation in public health principles and research methodologies.
Currently, Dr. Sharma collaborates with Professor Nusrat Husain and The Global Mental Health and Cultural Psychiatry Research Group, focusing on the development of culturally adapted interventions for mental health patients regarding oral health conditions.
Her research interests revolve around the intersection of oral health, mental health, and multimorbidity, with a particular focus on addressing the frequently overlooked oral health needs of disadvantaged populations. With a strong dedication to promoting comprehensive healthcare strategies, she aims to make a significant impact on the progress of global well-being.
