Deepali Sharma

Deepali Sharma is a Post Doctorate in Developmental Psychology, from the University of Jena, Germany. She has a Ph.D. in Human Development and has a Master’s degree in Child Development from Panjab University, Chadigarh, India. During her Ph.D. she was awarded with the prestigious Fulbright fellowship to pursue her cross-cultural doctoral research in the United States at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her post-doctoral work was supported by an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation grant and she is also the recipient of a Young Investigators Research Grant award by the Jacobs Foundation, Switzerland.
Her current work focuses on child and adolescent mental health and working with women having post partum depression. She has also conducted workshops in the areas of self-esteem, stress management, problem solving, alcohol and tobacco prevention, and social development. She has devised life skills module programs, training plans for teachers, and materials for adolescents, including marginalized children, and adults. Dr. Sharma is a co-editor for the prestigious ISSBD Bulletin (published by International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development) since the last ten years and was was also a guest editor for the Journal of Research on Adolescence focusing on ‘Adolescents in the Majority World’.
