Day 1: Bioethics Summer Program

We kicked off the Bioethics Summer Program with an incredible first day covering diverse topics. The program is taking place from August 5th to 9th, 2024, at Shifa College of Medicine Islamabad, in collaboration with Shifa College of Medicine, Tameer-e-Millat University; Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, Yale University; Manchester Global Foundation; University College London; and University of Manchester.

Following a warm welcome by CEO PILL Prof Nasim Chaudhry and Dr Rakhshi Memon (UCL), Prof. Mohammed Amir, Principal of Shifa College of Medicine, honored us with his presence and commended this much-needed initiative. Participants learned about Ethical Theories: History, Branches, & Principles of Bioethics (facilitated by Dr Rakhshi Memon), War Ethics and Narrative Transcultural Psychiatry – Narrating Trauma Through Traditional Storytelling (facilitated by Dr Ayesha Ahmad), and Ethics and Aesthetics: The Honeybee Model of Research (facilitated by Prof. Mowadat Rana).
