Dr. Siqi Xue

Dr. Siqi Xue is a psychiatrist and Associate Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She is a faculty affiliate with the SDG@UofT and member of the Collaborative Centre for Climate, Health & Sustainable Care. Dr. Xue’s academic interests include upstream, structural, and ecological determinants of mental health, global mental health, and women’s mental health. Her current program of research investigates how climate change and extreme weather events affect mental health outcomes, particularly among structurally marginalized populations. She leads and collaborates on interdisciplinary, community-engaged studies that use mixed methods to inform the development and implementation of context-sensitive interventions in Canada and in low- and middle-income countries.
Dr. Xue completed her medical and psychiatry residency training at the University of Toronto. She completed a Master of Science degree in Global Mental Health jointly from King’s College London and The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) as a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Detweiler Travelling Fellow. Her work has been recognized by awards from the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), and the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.
